Jodie is an award-winning essayist and literary citizen with a deep commitment
to cultivating community through nonprofit programming and adult education.

As Program Director at LitArts RI, a nonprofit co-working and community space for creatives in Providence, Jodie provides programming and support for the literary arts community in Rhode Island.

Jodie has ten years of experience in the book industry, including work at independent bookstores in Seattle, Minneapolis, and Boston, where she cultivated a literary expertise that ranges from Marcel Proust to J. Maarten Troost. As Managing Editor of Longitude Books, she reviewed and recommended travel books to travelers and tour companies such as National Geographic Expeditions and Smithsonian Journeys, becoming an authoritative voice on what to read where.

With a BA in English Education and an MFA in non-fiction creative writing, Jodie has taught writing at Seattle's Hugo House, the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, at Frequency Writers in Providence, and at GrubStreet in Boston.
